A social media campaign has been launched to find a brand-new lorry trailer which was recently stolen from Co. Down.
The trailer in question was taken from Scarva village in Down County yesterday, Wednesday November 7th, at 16:54pm. The trailer, which was a Dennison red flatbed trailer with galvanised side posts and similar to the one in the picture above, was last seen on CCTV footage heading through Scarva village on the back of a Volvo lorry at approximately 5:15pm the same day.
The lorry in question was a white Volvo lorry with Globetrotter on its headboard. The registration number of the trailer is 9848. The owners of the lorry made an appeal for information on the lorries whereabouts and recently received further CCTV footage of the lorry towing the trailer.
“We have just obtained clear CCTV footage of the Volvo truck coming into Scarva village from the Loughbrickland side on the bounce.” @Kingsoftheroadireland posted on Facebook.
“It’s then caught traveling back through Scarva towards Loughbrickland with the trailer on behind… We have also had the same truck passing an UlsterBus on the A27 Portadown to Newry road at approximately 17.10 at Halidays garage just outside of Jertzpass” They added.
The owners of the trailer said the lorry is very distinctive and have urged anyone with any further information to contact them on 07702765289. They have offered a reward of £2,000 cash for anyone who provides them with information leading to the trailer’s recovery.
