Gardaí in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo are investigating numerous thefts of gates from forestry and farmlands in the south of the county.
The items were recovered over the last three weeks, according to a Garda spokesperson.
In a statement on social media, a spokesperson said: “Planned searches were carried out in the Achonry area which resulted in a large number of gates being recovered and suspects are now identified.”
“The pictures below show only a sample of the gates that were recovered. A file is being prepared for the DPP.”
“Just a reminder to all that ourselves, and Sligo County Council can now assist in property marking.”
“Anything that can be stolen should be marked with identifiable marks were possible.” the Garda spokesperson concluded.
