What are your plans on Friday the 15th of February?
Why not head down to Dungannon Farmers Market in Co. Tyrone, where the fourth annual ‘Stars of the Future’ annual calf show and sale is set to take place. Organisers say entries into the show and sale are already “coming thick and fast” and promise that any attendees can be guaranteed to find themselves a star.
They say that they expect some of the country’s top show calf producers to enter this year’s event, with five different breed classes and a breeding heifer class. All entries will be judges on the day by Mr. James Wilkinson.
The show kicks off at 10am on the day and the sale will take place from 1:30pm sharp. Any calves entered into the haltered section must be penned by 9pm. Any animals purchased from the UK will be export tested by Grovemount Livestock, with animals cleared by the middle of the week following.
Any Southern buyers who make a purchase, will have to allow the animal to return back to its original herd for a thirty-day period, before movements are allowed.
Entries to get your calf entered into the show and sale are closed on January 18th. To apply for an entry form, contact Robert on 079-29759229.
NOTE: Any calf lacking BVD results cannot be uploaded from aphis into the mart system.
