The 17th Simmental-Cross heifer sale is due to take centre stage on Thursday 19th October next.
Hosted by the South-Western Simmental Club, 229 lots are set to go under the hammer on the night in Gort Mart. 39 in-calf heifers, 84 maiden heifers and 106 weanling heifers are catalogued for the Simmental-Cross sale. The sale is due to kick-start at 6pm sharp.
Martin Doohan, Chairman of South Western branch of Irish Simmental Cattle Society, has been facilitating the sale for seventeen years now.
“There is a strong offering of top quality cattle. The large entry of in-calf heifers, maiden heifers and weanling heifers will offer a great choice to all customers. We are selling very genuine stock. This would be the first movement on the card for the majority of the heifers and weanlings.” Martin told Catherina of That’s Farming.
“They have the potential to go on to become top quality suckler cows. Both our buyers and our sellers return every year because of the quality of stock that we have.” Martin added.
A catalogue is available to view with all the entries here. That’s Farming will bring you a report from the sale.
