The farming world is kept on their feet, as 2017 presents us with yet another hectic show diary.

With show scene 2017 well underway, we decided to pin down a few list-topping highlights that should not be missed.

1. Ploughing Match

It’s fifty-eight days to go until Ploughing 2017, as we return to the lands of Tullamore for another whopping treasure.

Our team is feeling fuelled for the event already, as we eagerly await a jam-packed programme of events.

From funfairs, to innovation arenas, a lifestyle village and sheep shearing demos, cookery demonstrations, livestock and machinery exhibitions, entertainment; there is definitely something for everyone.

2. Tullamore Show

Tullamore seems to be the place for all things Ag-related again this year.

Calendared for Sunday 13th August, boasting a powerful 1,000 classes with €175,000 worth of prize-money up for grabs.

Sitting on over 260 acres of a show-ground area and free car parking for 20,000 cars, Tullamore appears to be one of many ideal family days out.

Aside from the awaited livestock and bloodstock competitions, Fashion Cooking, Food, Craft, Tourism, and Family Entertainment are among the highlights to look forward to.

3. Bonniconlon Show

Bonniconlon Show continues to make waves in the west.

Due to take place on Monday 7th August, what a wonderful way to round up the Bank Holiday weekend.

Country Music legends Michael English and his band, along with Jimmy Buckley and his band will entertain attendees.

On over 200 acres, the 68th annual show is promising not to disappoint yet again this year.

Now in the second year of its running, Mayo Food Marquee is set to be a show favourite, among other exhibitions.

4. Virginia Show

The 75th Virginia Agricultural Show boasts €50,000 worth of prize money for the 2017 calendar.

The 34th Diago Baileys Irish Champion Dairy Cow competition remains a show topper.

5. Dungarvan Agricultural Show

Celebrating their hundredth year milestone this year is Dungarvan Agricultural Show.

Set to be staged in Waterford, to honour their achievement, a showcase of the nine very first ford tractors, along with new machinery is just one surprise in strong.
