The Irish Sheep Shearers Association (ISSA) has announced that this year’s All-Ireland and All-Nations Shearing and Woolhandling Championships will not take place on the 2nd and 3rd of June 2018 as earmarked.
In a statement on their Facebook page, the ISSA said that this event will not go ahead due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
They added that the All-Ireland Champions will be crowned from the 2018 Circuit instead; the team members for the 2019 World Championships in France will also be selected from the circuit.
The 2018 Circuit includes Donard Shears (May 13th); Balmoral Show (May 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th); Connacht Spring Show (May 20th) and The Top of Coom (July 8th). To enter the circuit, you must be a paid-up member of the ISSA. To enter, please contact Marie on 087-6103443.
The statement released today concluded by stating that “the All-Nations Champions will not be crowned this year, but we welcome all competitors to the remaining shows. The Irish Sheep Shearers Association would like to thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
