14 lambs were killed in a field in Northamptonshire between 4pm on Sunday (July 13th) and Monday afternoon (July 14th).
The carcasses of 12 lambs were stolen, while the remains of two others were left in a farmer’s field.
In a statement on Facebook, Park End Farming LTD said: Today (July 8th), the worst thing happened that my children witnessed. We found that our sheep were butchered in the field last night (July 7th).”
“Words cannot describe how I feel after all the hard work and love that goes into our stock. Today, I feel like giving up.”
Death count continues to rise
In a second post which was published later that afternoon, the farmers said: “To make matters, worse we are still finding ewes with their throats slit around the field and the death count continues to rise!”
“The police haven't yet turned up and we can't even begin clearing up. So much for the British justice system. This is professionally done and must have been received beforehand.”
