Second crew member found after ship carrying livestock sinks

A second crew member from the ship, which was carrying over 5,800 cattle and 43 people, has been found, along with numerous dead cattle.

The man was discovered unconscious and was later pronounced later.

He is the second crew member to be found, while the first, Chief Officer Sareno Edvarodo, a 45-year-old sailor, was rescued after being half-a-day in the water.

The ship, which is close to 12,000-tonnes, capsized enroute from New Zealand to China, as reported by us earlier.

It is understood that the incident occurred when the ship lost an engine whilst travelling in the East China Sea.

The Gulf Livestock 1 sent a distress call near Amani Oshima island after Typhoon Maysak hit the region with winds of up to 130km/hr.
