Our Big Farming Poll 2017 results are in and it's some interesting reading.

Trump, Brexit & The Department of Agriculture are just some of the biggest concerns for Irish farmers as they enter 2017.

2016 was a year of climbing milk prices but falling suckler ones. A Tillage Crisis also played into the mix and has worried many Irish farmers about their future in the sector.

With the Teagasc Outlook report indicating that dairy will continue to rise while other sectors will fall in trade we took to the polls to ask your opinion.

Results:

55% considering expanding their acerage in 2017-01-02

79% worried about future of farming sector in 2017-01-02

91% believe Brexit will continue to have a negative impact on Irish goods.

67% will not be buying new machinery in 2017

64% are going to stay with their same feed suppliers

61% are concerned about what the Trump Presidency could mean for EU farming.

55% think farming media are doing a good job covering agriculture matters

79% are not happy with the job the Department of Agriculture are doing
