Gardaí in Co. Laois yesterday, February 5th, announced that they had recovered a stolen quad and trailer, as well as other items believed to be stolen.
The items were recovered in the Vicarstown area of County Laois, in a lock-up near the canal and the quad in question was worth an estimated €2,000. The items were found by Gardaí on Tuesday January 29th, after being stolen the previous day in Mullingar. The quad and trailer have now been returned to their owners.
These were not the only items found in the lock-up by Gardaí, as they also recovered a number of other items including a second quad. Gardaí are assuming that all items found were previously stolen.
No arrests have yet been made in connection to the recoveries, though Gardaí believe the perpetrators were operating out of Athy, Co. Kildare.
They believe the lock-up was being used for a short period of time and that the thieves were not operating out of Vicarstown or the surrounding area. They are urging anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or with any information on the incident to contact them on 057-8674100.
