Four rams were “mauled” by dogs in the Glenurla area of Ballycastle, Co. Mayo on Wednesday, February 19th.
In a post on social media, a Ballycastle community page issued a warning to all sheep farmers and dog owners, following the incident.
“One ram was killed, and the remainder are barely alive. We are pleading with all dog owners to please keep your dogs under control especially during lambing season.”
“The Gardaí and the dog warden have been notified.” “The photos show some of the damage done; these are the least upsetting of all the photos taken this morning. This is what a dog, or dogs, can do."
