Dry cows went under the hammer from €710 to €1,740 at Elphin Mart on Monday, July 6th, according to Gerry Connellan.
The mart manager reported that an average price of €1,229 was recorded, along with a 95% clearance in this category.
Heifers
In the heifer ring, 81% of entries found new homes, he added.
- 300-400kgs – the average price achieved was €920;
- 400-500 kg – the average price achieved was €1,038 with a maximum price of €1,200 for a 490 kg Limousin;
- > 500 kg – the average price achieved was €1,204 with a maximum of €1,650 for a 550 kg Limousin.
Bullocks

- 400-500 kg – the average price achieved was €957 with a maximum of €1,290 for a 500 kg Limousin;

Weanlings
