The pensioner, who was killed in a farm accident in West Cork yesterday morning (Wednesday, June 3rd), has been named.
It has been reported by local media, EchoLive.ie, that Michael Cronin sustained fatal injuries when his quad bike overturned whilst tending to sheep.
The incident occurred in Coomanore of the county, as reported by us here.
Gardaí received reports that a man had been discovered with serious injuries shortly after 10am.
Garaí and the emergency services arrived on-farm; however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are investigating the death of the farmer.
