A farmer has taken to social media to share his story in a bid to highlight the dangers of quad bikes.
Damian McGreal was conducting his routine Sunday farm check on December 16th, 2018 when his quad bike overturned.
"I was lucky enough that I had time to jump, none of my family knew where I was and I was lucky enough that I’m not too seriously injured, with only a few cuts and scrapes tomorrow (December 17th) probably, bruises." He outlined.
"I’m posting this as I learned a valid lesson; farming can be a mentally frustrating job at times and you like to do it alone but other times a blessing."
"It is important to let people know where you're off to and a time you can be expected back as I can only think of the “what if’s” if I was seriously hurt and couldn’t get my phone, what would I do?" He added.
Damian reminded farmers to stay safe and to inform someone of their plans if they are carrying out a task alone.
