The price of a standard domestic postage stamp will increase from €1.00 to €1.10, while the price of a standard international stamp will rise from €1.70 to €1.80.
In a statement, the postal service said that the increases in letter prices across Europe reflect the “steady” decline in traditional letter volumes globally due to e-substitution.
It confirmed that all existing stamps will remain valid after the prices change. €0.10 stamps can be purchased to make up any difference in postage costs.
