This year’s Ploughing Championships is set to return to Screggan, Tullamore, Co Offaly.
Sitting on approximately 700 acres, the event will take centre stage on Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st September 2017.
Last year’s attendance hit at a record-breaking 283,000 attendees.
The 2017 event will see 1,700 exhibitors and over 300 competitors dominate the showgrounds.
A large number of livestock will be on display for the three-day event and we will be bringing you a further detailed guide containing some of the top picks for this year.

As we all know you cannot dare step foot inside the gates of the Ploughing Championships without actually admiring a spot of Ploughing!
Over 350 competitors are stepping it up to the challenge of showcasing the art of ploughing on Offaly soil.
Many are returning to compete this year, while several new participants have decided to throw their hat in the ring.
The latest leading Agricultural technology is set to be showcased at this year’s event, like no other.
Some of the most expensive technology in the game is set to be found on the Offaly soil over the course of the three days.
This year will see the return of the Machinery Demonstration Area and the inaugural Harry Fergusson Macra Tractor Driver Safety Award.
Brought to you by Enterprise Ireland and a well-known farming publication, a hefty collective prize-fund of over €80,000 is available for the entrepreneurs.
This year sees a further growth of 50%, with discussions to be held on Brexit, Agri-Careers and Global Markets.
This year the focus is on placing Irish agri-innovations on a world stage, with a ‘Focus on International Markets Session’ briefing calendared for the Tuesday.
The session will focus on Ag Tech Sector from around the world with information set to be delivered through a short presentation, followed by Q and A session from the companies in attendance.
There has been a further extension made to the Trade Arena, with the return of the popular Tented Retail Village which includes what the NPA claims to be the biggest Arcade ever.
The ‘‘Dome’’ is especially designed to hold over 120 exhibitors.
The ‘Most Appropriately Dressed Lady’ is back once again this year with prize of over €3,000 up for grabs.
The winning lady will take home a weekend escape for two in The g Hotel staying in their most luxurious accommodation, the Linda Evangelista Suite.
Not forgetting the male attendees, The ‘Most Appropriately Dressed Gentleman’ will claim a prize of an exclusive custom-made suit sponsored by Master Tailor himself, Louis Copeland and weekend away in the Bridge House Hotel.
Fashion shows are also scheduled to take place on a daily basis at 11.30 am, 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm.
National Brown Bread Baking Competition
The National Semi Finals and Final will be held from 19th to 21st September at the Aldi Marquee, with a notable €10,000 in the kitty.

Entry for senior citizens and second-level students are priced at €15.
