An export-tested Belgian Blue-cross-Limousin show-type heifer is up for grabs from DC Farm Competitions.
The STQ daughter, born in mid-February, is out of a Limousin dam and was bred by Martin Shaughnessy, one of the “top commercial herds in the country”.
“She is very correct, has great length, width, squareness and colour.” Daniel Conway, owner of DC Farm Competitions explained.
How does it work?
The new online platform, which holds weekly competitions, has stemmed from Conway’s life-long passion for breeding superior cattle.
The agricultural-orientated competitions website allows farmers to be in with the chance of winning quality livestock by paying a small entry fee which is a fraction of their value.
Users are required to log onto – www.dcfarmcompetitions.com – where they select a competition of their choice.
They then click ‘enter’ to purchase a ticket and are required to answer a question to qualify and complete payment. They are then entered into the draw in question and receive email confirmation with a ticket number.
The winner of each competition is selected using a random number generator and announced during a Facebook livestream. The competition provider will contact winners and organise transfer and collection arrangements.
