Tributes have poured in for the man who died in a farm accident in Rathdangan, Co. Wicklow earlier this month.
Peter “Coney” Byrne was knocked when knocked unconscious when tending to cattle on Thursday, April 11th; the father-of-four died in hospital on Tuesday, April 16th.
Releasing a statement on Facebook, Kiltegan Camogie Club said: “Kiltegan Camogie Club lost a great friend and clubman Peter "Coney" Byrne R.I.P.”
He coached its adult team for many years and brought many championships back to Kiltegan Camogie.
“Peter supported everything Kiltegan Camogie Club did and was relentless in his passion for our club and the game.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Peter's partner Clodagh, his children, his sister Kate and all his family.” The statement concluded.

Kiltegan GAA said: “Kiltegan GAA Club are so saddened to announce the sudden death of our distinguished clubman Peter Byrne “Coney”. Peter died following a tragic accident.”
“Peter was a passionate player, coach and selector within our club all his life and gave everything to each role he held for Kiltegan GAA.”
“Our entire community is distraught on Peter’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Peter’s family at this sad time.”
