The slaughter house is in County Clare, and the move was made by the department following requests from Veterinary Ireland to reopen the Temporary positions to members of its organisation.
Requests from Veterinary Ireland resulted in the Department making official their search for new Inspectors, and are now seeking Inspectors for work in the slaughter house in Clare.
They services of the inspector will be required for Kepak, Drumquin, Tiermaclane, Ennis, Co. Clare/ The Department have also released the potential earnings of whoever claims the role, with a fixed hourly rate of €64.49.
Any interested parties must be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland and also have a developed understanding of all rules and regulations associated with hygiene in food and animal origin regulations.
The move has been welcomed by Veterinary Ireland who were behind the requests to the department.
Last year there were a total of 602 Temporary Veterinary Inspectors on the books of the Department. They provided meat inspections services throughout Ireland.
