Following on the back of last year’s success, the Ned Tarrant Memorial Tractor Run will take place on Sunday, April 28th.
264 tractors rolled out for the inaugural event – which was organised by Banteer Macra and members of the Kilcorney community - and raised €16,500, respectively.
This year’s chosen charities are Pieta House and Disaster Response Team Ireland (DRTI).
Speaking to That’s Farming, David Murphy – one of the organisers – said: “Ned was a great neighbour and friend of all in Kilcorney.”
“We are hoping people will support it again as it was a great day last year and it's a great social outing for farmers and people of Kilcorney and surrounding areas.”
Registration takes place at 12pm in Kilcorney Social Centre, Co. Cork - entry fee is €20 per tractor.
Tractors will depart Kilcorney at 1pm and will travel to Moll Carthys Bridge, onto Millstreet and veering left to the famous Butter Road route on the Rylane Road and returning to Healy’s Bar for a barbeque.
