The UK retailer, Morrison’s, have followed Sainsbury’s lead by promising to sell British only lamb in their stores.
The news comes following recent announcements from Major UK retailers to start implementing a British only meat policy post Brexit.
Morrison’s become the latest retailer to promise to use only British Lamb, where as the Co-op and others have implemented it for all meats.
This now means that lamb will also no longer be imported from New Zealand, Australia as well as Ireland.
The news has been broadly welcomed in the UK agricultural industry, though it is likely to have a knock on effect for Irish sheep farmers.
