More buyers for cattle at Loughrea

Lamb prices improved at Loughrea Mart last week, according to a spokesperson.

“Factory agents are looking for lambs, so, hopefully, sheep prices will remain strong.”

Prices:

  • 36.5kg – €92;
  • 39kgs – €98;
  • 44.5kgs – €107;
  • 50kgs – €110;
  • 52.5kgs – €115;
  • 54kgs – €120.

Other categories:

  • Cull ewes – €55-€105.

Cattle

“Cattle prices are holding strong and with a big improvement in grass growth, there are more buyers looking for cattle. Good cull cows are also selling well.” the spokesperson added.

Bullocks:

  • 1 CHX – 330kg – €850;
  • 1 LMX – 425kg – €835;
  • 1 CHX – 527kg – €1,125;
  • 1 CHX – 570kg – €1,200;
  • 1 CHX – 592kg – €1,320;
  • 1 BBX – 665kg – €1,385.

Heifers:

  • 1 CHX – 390kg – €850;
  • 1 CHX – 415kg – €915;
  • 1 CHX – 485kg – €1,080;
  • 1 LMX – 525kg – €1,240;
  • 1 LMX – 545kg – €1,265;
  • 1 BBX – 595kg – €1,230.

Cull cows:
