The news came this week that co-ops across Ireland are to increase their milk prices for another month. Glanbia and Lakeland lead the charge at the start of the week with a 28.45 c/l and 27.75 c/l increase respectively.
Kerry Group, Carbery and others also increased their pice. With the Carbery price up by 1 c/l and Kerry now trading at 27.5 c/l.
The IFA welcomed the news.
2017 is forecast to be a good year in the dairy industry with further price rises expected and overall income for dairy farmers to increase.
