“This tractor run has been set up to elevate financial stress and take one less worry away so she can continue her fight.” Organisers posted.
Huge Turnout -
The maiden year of the event saw what was described as a “huge turnout” by one of the organisers, with over 200 trucks and tractors joining in the run.
Vehicles entered into the run were required to pay a fee of €25, with tractors, lorries, vintage cars and 4x4’s all showing their support. For those who wanted to take part but had no vehicle, there was also a family 5km walk, with a charge of €5 per person or €10 per family. There was also a bake sale at the event and Santa Claus even managed to make it down for a visit.
Attendees were then treated to refreshments and a raffle after the competition of the run.
Monies Raised -
To date, That'sFarming have been informed that over €17,500 has been tallied as a result of the recent fundraising efforts in Clonkill, Co. Westmeath, a whopping total.
For those who couldn’t attend on the day, a gofundme page is still in operation and has already raised in excess of €10,000. You can still donate here.
