Kildare Chilling Company is “working closely” with the HSE following confirmation of a number of Covid-19 cases.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the company outlined that “full contact tracing has been undertaken, affected staff are isolating and further testing is being undertaken in line with HSE recommendations”.
According to reports, the lamb processing line has been suspended for a period due to the outbreak.
The processor has not confirmed the number of Covid-19 cases identified at the plant.
The slaughter halls at Kildare Chilling Co. have the capacity to kill 120,000 cattle and 500,000 lambs per annum, according to the company.
