Marts: Calf sellers urged to ‘drop and go’

Cork Co-op Marts, with centres at Bandon, Corrin, Skibbereen, Dungarvan, Macroom and Cahir, has announced its new sale protocols.

Calf sellers are urged to remain in their vehicles and “drop and go”. Staff will unload calves and the vendor will then leave premises, according to a statement from the mart centre.

Cattle sellers are required to unload stock and will have access to the auctioneer for their own loads; they will then leave the premises.

Buyers must pre-register in mart offices for access to ringside with limited numbers, the statement added.

Cahir Mart:

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only calf and cattle sales will take part at Cahir Mart tomorrow (Wednesday, March 18th).
