One of Ireland's largest chicken processors, Manor Farms, have announced its sale to Swedish company , Scandi Standard.
The deal is said to be worth 70 million euros to the Irish company, with Majority shareholders Vincent and Justin Carton also becoming shareholders in Scandi Standard.
The company currently supplies and processes over 50% of all poultry to Ireland, and last year had a net profit of 164million euros.
The farm currently employs approximately 170 farmers for chicken rearing and breeding and are a Bord Bia certified company.
Vincent and Justin Carton said the Swedish outfit were chosen as they agreed with the main principles of the company, which is to continually supply quality products to its consumers.
