The Chicken Processor, Manor Farm, has been named Best Quality Certified Poultry Plant in the country. The plant also was awarded the National winner in hygiene and Food safety at the National Q Mark Awards, as reported by shelflife.ie
The company achieved top marks of 6.75% of all the audits completed by the Excellence Ireland Quality Association (EIQA) in Ireland and they now are the top chicken processor for Quality and Excellence. All companies who entered were audited during the ‘awards window’ 1st April – 31st March and are then considered to compete for a National Q Mark Award.
Manor Farm, based in Shercock Co. Cavan, has been run by the Carton family since 1775. The latest win for the company is the first time they have won the overall winner's award since 2008. They have been a member of the EIQA programme since the 1990’s. They beat out 15 other companies for the award. The award is the highest quality award on offer for Irish businesses.
There were over 500 people in attendance on the night, with over 135 companies represented at the black tie event. In total there was 26 awards presented on the night. All funds raised on the night went to Debra Ireland/
