A man aged in his mid-50s has died in what appears to be a farm accident relating to machinery in Co Clare.
Gardaí were called to the scene of the incident in Shragh, Kilrush, Co Clare on Thursday, shortly after 7pm. The body of a man in his mid-50s was discovered close to his home on the farm. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body was later removed to Limerick County Morgue.
A spokesperson said the fatality looks to caused by machinery, and no criminality is suspected.
The mans death brings the number of farm accidents this year to 15, the majority of which have been caused by accidents relating to farm machinery.
