A farmer has lost his life while he was out making hay on Sunday August 27th, as reported by FGinsight.
The man, aged 51, died from the injuries he suffered after becoming entangled in farm equipment while making hay. The accident occurred at approximately 1:30pm on a farm in Staindrop, Teesdale, County Durham.
Emergency services were called immediately to the scene. This included local police, an ambulance service and the local Fire and Rescue. Despite their best efforts the man was pronounced dead on the scene upon their arrival.
Local Police confirmed that the man was the only person involved in the incident and described it as a huge tragedy. The Health and Safety Executive say they have been made aware of the accident and are investigating the incident with local police.
