The Mayo-based firm designs and manufactures a range of mowers and slurry-handling systems:

Major Equipment Intl Ltd was the recipient of two awards at the 2016 Irish Agribusiness Awards. The Co. Mayo based firm designs and manufactures a range of innovative mowers and slurry handling systems for the agricultural and amenity industries. 65% of Major’s production is exported, to countries as far away as South Africa and Australia.

The Agribusiness Awards recognise and celebrate the most innovative organisations and individuals that have contributed to Ireland's status as a global leader in this vital sector.

The company received the Equipment & Machinery Agribusiness of the Year award for their Cyclone mower and their custom designed tandem tankers and low emission slurry application systems.

The company was then announced as the overall Agribusiness of the Year for their outstanding contribution to the Irish Agribusiness industry over the past 40 years.

Commenting on the awards, Major’s Marketing Coordinator Eibhlin Murphy said; “We are delighted with these awards and to be part of such a vibrant and resilient sector. To be recognised by our peers and colleagues in the Irish Agribusiness industry is a huge honour. It is the perfect end to a great 40th year at Major.”
