Louth Macra will host its second Annual Macra Mart in the Grove House, Dunleer on Saturday, November 23rd at 8 pm.
“Macra Mart is a night where we auction off our members to the highest bidder!” the club explained in a statement.
“Bidees can offer their unique services such as hedge-cutting, relief milking, Xmas shopping help, designated driver services and much much more!”
How does it work?
People "being sold" with either spin a wheel to decide what job/task they will do, or they can offer up some sort of service.
Bidders can bid over each other to win the person being sold. As usual, the highest bidder will win. Mart money will be sold at the door. Ticket holders will get 50 quid 'mart money' free.
Macra mart money rate
- €1= 10 Quid in 'mart money'
- €5 = 50 Quid in 'mart money'
- €10 = 100 Quid in 'mart money'
Nationwide
Last year, money was raised for the County, but this year’s funds will be donated to Drogheda Homeless Aid.
“We have biddees selling themselves from clubs all around the county and further afield.”
Local, 30-year veteran livestock auctioneer, Niall Reilly, will be auctioning off ‘bidees’ in style! MC on the night is Louth's 2019 Mr. P, Adam Hanratty.
“We would also like to encourage any past Macra members to come to help celebrate Macra's 75th Anniversary! It promises to be a great night.” the organiser concluded.
