The Ploughing 2018 is a chance for all machinery fanatics to get up close and personal with some of the latest releases. But what should you look out for? Where will they be located? Keep reading below and find out!

Lely Center Mullingar Robotic Milking Specialists - The Lely Astronaut A5 - Block 1, Row 28, Stand 607.
Featured at the Lely stand this year will be all of their top and latest top-of-the-range machines, including the Astronaut A5.

With the Lely Astronaut A5, farmers can now achieve optimal freedom of movement for your cows, according to Lely. The new design allows the cows to decide themselves when to eat, drink, relax or be milked, giving farmers more free time. It has many features such as the hybrid arm and the I-flow concept contribute to the cows’ natural rhythm and increase the milking robot’s capacity.

FarmHand Ltd - Block 4, Row 16, Stand 339.

Landini - The 6-H tractor - Block 3, Row 15, Stand 318
The bigger and more powerful 6-H tractor being shown is another making its debut appearance at The Ploughing.

This is an all-new model that brings together the transaxle of the 114-140hp Landini 6-H, a new Deutz compact four-cylinder engine that results in a shorter wheelbase for added maneuverability, and the lower profile cab of the Landini 4/5 Series tractors.
With power outputs of 110hp, 119hp and 126hp, this is an attractive package for operators ready to swap out a Landini Powermondial or upgrade from an earlier 5-H Series tractor to get increased performance, comfort and productivity.

Also on show will be the Landini 4-D series tractor.

McCormick - The X6 VT-Drive - Award-winning tractor. Block 3, Row 15, Stand 318
The tractor that won Europe-wide acclaim as winner of the prestigious Tractor of the Year award will feature on the McCormick exhibit stand at this year’s National Ploughing Championship.
The McCormick X6 VT-Drive is a rarity among 114-140hp tractors in that it has a stepless CVT transmission rather than the usual semi-powershift gearbox.
That gives the tractor outstanding driving characteristics and control versatility, with operators simply selecting forward or reverse and using the accelerator pedal – or the console-mounted controller – to regulate ground speed.

This sort of technology is normally confined to more powerful arable cropping tractors but in this application, it makes the McCormick X6 VT-Drive ideal for jobs on livestock and mixed farms where optimum working speed improves productivity and the quality of the work done.

Also featured at the ploughing will be the new X7 P6-Drive series, a new mid-range tractor – the X6.45

McHale Plant Sales - The Komatsu WA320-8 - Row 19, Block 3, Stand 411.
Komatsu -Fully-specified and fitted for agricultural use, the heavy-duty Komatsu WA320-8 wheel loader will be on show, with its easily interchangeable front bucket and forks attachments.

The WA320-8 has been proving popular amongst farm contractors and grain harvesters in recent years. There will also be three other Komatsu units at the event, The PC55MR-5 and the PC26MR-5. – in drainage, scrub clearance, foundation laying, wall building and the like – are Komatsu’s PC55MR-5 and PC26MR-3, while the heftier PC138US-11 will also be showcased and is now Komatsu’s best selling model in Ireland.

Also at this stand will be telehandlers from Merlo (TF33,7-115, TF35.7-115, P27.6 Plus, P40.17). The Komatsu Forest will also make an appearance, as will the Terex Ecotex range of shredders, screeners and material handlers.

FarmHandLtd - Block 4, Row 16, Stand 339.
Featrued at the FarmHandLtd stand this year will not only be the Big X 780 from Krone, but also the Amazone Pantera self-propelled sprayer.

McHale - Block 2, row 15, stand number 313.
For all the McHale diehards, there will be a number of the most popular machines featured at the McHale stand this year. They will also have the full range of merchandise on offer, such as polo shirts, jackets and model machinery.
