The Leaving certificate results are released tomorrow, and we offer some tips and advice for all those receiving their results.

It's a big day for a lot of people tomorrow, with a lot having waited anxiously all summer with what they feel is their whole future depending on it.

Thousands of students will make one (hopefully), final journey to their old watering holes to collect the results, with many hoping to pursue a career in agriculture.

There are plenty of options available to those hoping to take steps forward in the agriculture industry. Take a look below, as we provide you with some very good options.

Agricultural Colleges:

There are numerous privately and state run colleges throughout the country, with many offering hands on experience in the industry. See below list of colleges:

Clonakilty, Ballyhaise, Kildalton, Mountbellew, Gurteen, and Pallaskenry. These all offer FETAC level 5 certificates in Agriculture. These courses are 9 months long, three of which are on farm work experience on an approved farm. They also provide further options on subjects such as dry stock, machinery, equine studies, and dairying to name a few.

A Fetac level 6 Advanced certificate in Agriculture can also be completed upon finishing the level 5 course.

Horticulture course can also be completed in Kildalton college, and students can then move on to courses in UCD and numerous Institutes of Technology.

For a more advanced field of study, one cannott look past the Bachelor of Agricultural Science Degree in UCD. This offers students a wide range of options in all sectors of agriculture. A level 8 degree, which runs for three years with the option of a fourth. This is probably the holy grail of degrees in agriculture.

That's just a few of the options available to students receiving their results tomorrow, with many more available through Teagasc, the FRS and many other agriculture organisations. Don't forget one could always just go straight into agriculture, like many of our featured young farmers.

It may seem like the biggest deal now and the most important day of your life, but just a word to the wise, these results are not the defining moment in your life. If all does not go to plan, it is not the end of the world.

For those receiving their results, the very best of luck from everybody here at Thatsfarming.
