The dairy group who are owned by Ornua are set to build a new €38 million production facility called Kerrygold park. When in operation the Park will manufacture up to 50,000 tonnes of butter per annum.
The facility which is to open today will also have a customer innovation centre.
Ornua is Ireland’s largest exporter of dairy products and the group expects growth from its Kerrygold brand to reach €1 billion in retail sales.
Ornua owns other well known brands including Dubliner, Shannongold and BEO milk powder.
Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed will officialy open the new facility later today.
