Location: I'm from ballyduff just outside Roscrea but I live in Offaly.
Background in Agriculture- when did you start farming?
I started farming with my dad from a very early age helping to feed the cows and scrape the mats.
How many generations is the farm within the family?
My father is a fourth generation farmer and I hope to be the fifth.
Tell me about your farm, system in place, day – to-day tasks?
We run a suckler to store weanlings for the export market and breed most our own replacements and buy in about 250 store lambs to fatten.
What is your favourite thing about farming?
My favourite thing about farming is when the cows are calving because despite the lack of sleep it's extremely rewarding seeing the calves grow up and be ready for export I also love the silage and machinery I run my own small photography businnes videoing local contractors and taking pictures
Have you always wanted to be a farmer?
I've always wanted to be a farmer since I was a child barely able to hold a bucket of meal
Do you want to study Agriculture in third level?
I plan to go on to study agriculture in third level and get my degree and return home someday to the farm
