John Deere have recently launched the redesigned versions of their K-Series range of compact wheel loaders, with the introduction of the 244L and 324L compact wheel loader models.
The models have been described as “ideal” for snow removal, landscape work, material handling (AG) and construction work.
"Our next generation of compact wheel loaders was designed to meet the needs of industry professionals who are demanding higher performance from their machines," said Drew Miller, product marketing manager, compact wheel loaders, John Deere Construction & Forestry.
"Tailor-made for tight spaces, the 244L and 324L use our proprietary Articulation Plus system to provide greater stability and yield more lifting power while turning tighter." The product marketing manager continued.
The 244L and 324L compact loaders feature an industry-exclusive Articulation plus steering system.
This gives operators a combination of lift capacity and manoeuvrability. The feature also includes an articulated frame and rear-wheel steer function, which provides excellent stability when turning in tight areas.
Parallel lifting is improved thanks to the newly optimized linkage, which has only 6 degrees of rollback. The 244L model can achieve 8-foot, 3-inch full-lift dump heights and a full-turn tip load of 3,700kgs!
The 324L model, meanwhile, has a high lift which can reach up to 10 foot, 3-inches tall, and a full-turn tip load capacity of up to 4,430kgs. To allow for increased productivity, the K-series models also allow operators to move faster without having to manually shift the machine. The designs feature an auto-shift hydrostatic transmission, which is coupled with an automatic two-speed gearbox and allows for speeds of up to 23% greater. Both models (224L and the 324L) are fitted with 73-hp Final Tier 4 engines.
The cab on both the 324L and the 244L has also been redesigned to offer the operator maximum comfort. It features an optional air ride, a high-back driver seat and better visibility of the loader arm and bucket, thanks to the layout inside. Airflow has also been improved on the 324L and 24L models, thanks to a revamped cooling package. There is also better debris management, thanks to a rear enclosure.
