During the week, we brought you the story of claims made by Mr. Fitzmaurice.
Michael Fitzmaurice claimed that Irish farmers were being unfairly targeted by a new charging system implemented by the company.
Mr. Fitzmaurice said that these charges amounted to hundreds of euros extra charges for farmers.
The new charging system is supposedly resulting in extra charges for farmers due to water usage form all farming locations being taken into account.
Irish water have since refuted these claims, saying there has been no change to existing billing frequency of bills or method of charging for any customer group, including farmers.
The company added that the only change is the change in terms of the volume that was used and the number of days billed in a cycle, this is because it is dependent on when the meter was read.
