The Hynes family, Aherla, Co. Cork are leading another powerful fundraiser this year, after raising a respectable €15,000 for Aware at an open day on their farm last year.
Zurich Farmers of the Year 2017 Peter and Paula Hynes with daughters Chloe, Becky and Georgie have joined forces with Pretty Bird, a new Agri-Business start-up to raise money for EMBRACE Farm.
After engaging in a conversation with Grace Roche of Pretty Bird and Alma Jordan of AgriKids on Twitter, Peter will dress-up in a pair of funky pink overalls from Grace Roche’s fashion range for women in the farming industry, in a bid to raise €5,000 for their chosen charity.
Three major fundraising goals have been earmarked; €1000 – Peter will wear the pink overalls on his farm for the day, Goal 2 - €2,500 – Peter will wear the overalls to his local co-op and €5,000 – Peter will visit Corrin Mart, Fermoy and take a mart selfie from the auctioneer’s box.
“It is a good opportunity to have fun and also raise awareness and raise funds for EMBRACE Farm. They are an excellent charity and they give invaluable support to the farming community. We are trying to get behind farm safety once again, following on from our efforts last year.” Paula and Peter Hynes said.
“It is important that we all support EMBRACE Farm to some extent and it nice to work alongside an Irish start-up business in the Agricultural sector,” Peter added.
