Have you ever dreamed of owning your very own Island off the coast of Ireland? One featuring an array of country cottages, farm buildings, a private tennis court, a gym, private beaches and its own electricity grid?

Have you €6.75 million to spend? Ever dreamed of owning your very own Island on which to run your agricultural enterprise? Then Horse Island off the coast of Cork could the place for you!

Located off the coast of Schull in West Cork, is the spectacular 156-acre Horse Island. Boasting the beautiful coastal landscape that has made Cork famous, the island is a real one of a kind purchase for any potential buyer.

As mentioned, the island extends to 156-acres in total and is located a five-minute boat ride from the mainland. The island features a modern harbour with 150ft pier and slipway for such purposes and boasts stunning views of the Atlantic.

Residential properties -
Should you feel the island is too expensive of a purchase, why not split the difference between a group of friends?

The island boasts not only the main house but six other cottages on the property. This includes two 3-bed properties, two 2-bed properties and two 1-bed cottages. The main house consists of 6 bedrooms in total and is finished to a very high standard, as seen in the below pictures.

The courtyard surrounding the main property on the island is described as perfect for outdoor dining and entertainment. It features sheltered seating, a BBQ and a wood-fuelled pizza oven.

Sites and Activities -
Such is the beauty of the surroundings on Horse Island, that there is an abundance of activities to keep you busy. As it is surrounded by coastline, water sports are recommended, whilst the island also boasts a private tennis court, gym and three private, sandy beaches!

Horse Island is also home to an array of different plants and animals, making it the perfect place for nature enthusiasts.

Farm facilities -
Now to the “Crème de la Crème”, the farm facilities.

As I am sure you will agree, there is not much point spending millions on an island if you cannot keep your beloved animals on it with you. Horse Island does not disappoint and features a range of different livestock housing facilities. It contains a farmyard, an implement shed, a livestock shed, a workshop and a generator shed, with all buildings located around the concrete farmyard.

The main livestock shed is a modern 7 bay “A” frame shed, partially slatted and hard standing. The Implement shed is a three-bay “A” frame shed, with concrete flooring. The property also contains a now abandoned copper mine.

Other facilities -
As mentioned, the island is also home to a modern harbour and 150ft pier with slipway and offshore licence installed. The island also has a helicopter pad on site.

At €6.75 million, there are not too many out there who could afford the luxury of their very own farming island, but one can only dream!
