Gortatlea Mart is cancelling all scheduled sales for the next two weeks, according to its manager, Maurice Brosnan.
In a statement, he outlined that the action is being taken in the interest of health and safety. “We are currently in uncertain times following the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and the health of our staff, buyers, sellers and visitors remains our key priority.”
“We hope that farmers and members of the public will understand the need for this decision.”
“We encourage all farmers that have any questions to contact the mart office if they need any assistance during these unprecedented times.”
“We also look forward to returning to normal business as soon as this terrible pandemic is eventually got under control.” the mart manager added.
