€113m in the form of GLAS payments will issue to just shy of 32,600 farmers in the coming days, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has confirmed today (Wednesday, November 16th, 2022).
Payments, will this week, issue to 74.8% of GLAS participants and will bring the total the DAFM has paid under the scheme to €1.29b.
This investment will be surpassed in the incoming ACRES scheme, for which Minister McConalogue has secured €1.5bn for this flagship environmental scheme.
He said that issuing payments to farm families in a rapid manner is a “key priority of mine, and I am proud of our track record in this space.”
“These payments are an important income boost to farmers at this time of year and, of course, are a recognition of their significant contribution to the environmental achievements in the GLAS scheme.”
