Tributes have poured in for the late Gerard (Gerry) Healy - a well-known farmer, agricultural contractor and IFA member from Townley Hall, Tullyallen, Drogheda, Co. Louth.
Releasing a statement on Facebook, Tullyallen IFA said: "Gerard [was] a true gentleman; a big man with a big heart that would always help anyone that needed help if you were in bother."
"Gerry was a great IFA man - he was chairman of Tullyallen IFA for many years and organised many meetings, protests and marches." the spokesperson added.
"We lost not only a dear friend but one of the most kind-hearted, selfless and giving gentlemen this world will ever know."
'A heart of gold'
Tullyallen Tractor Run said: "Gerard Healy was the driving force behind our tractor run."
"[He was] a big friendly giant who was passionate about giving back to causes that were dear to him."
"A man with a heart of gold, who never failed to get a laugh. A man who meant everything to his family and friends, who cherished them just as much."
"A once-in-a-lifetime sort of friend. Gerry, you will be truly missed." the statement concluded.
