Augmented Reality and farming may seem very far apart, though thanks to Väderstad this has now all changed.
The Swedish company have launched a new App, with Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The design will enable farmers and potential clients of the farm machinery company to test and experience farm machinery without having to get behind the wheel! It is all done through a smartphone or tablet!
How it works -
The concept is very simple and the App is free to download via the Google Play store and the Apple App store.
The App works via a number of triggers, which are marked with a small plus sign icon. All one has to do is open the app and point the camera to one of the AR triggers in the Väderstad brochures.
This allows farmers, for example, to see how the seed meter of the Väderstad Tempo planter works, while also showing them how it delivers perfect precision at high speeds. It can also show potential clients how a roller change in the advanced metering system, Fenix III, is carried out in mere seconds.
“As always, the Väderstad farm machinery is designed hand-in-hand with farming methods and concepts. The AR technology is a good way for us to highlight the agronomical benefits on a farm level.”, said Mattias Hovnert, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing of Väderstad.
In a nutshell, the AR app brings all the content in the Väderstad brochures to life. The first brochures available are the new brochures for the Tempo planter and the Seed Hawk air seeder, with five additional brochures to be released in October 2018.
