A large gorse fire occurred in Co. Cork last night (Thursday, March 26th), following a dry spell of weather.
Two units, from Bantry and Schull, were deployed to the scene of the incident in the west of the county shortly after 7pm.
In a statement on the matter on Twitter, a spokesperson for Bantry Fire Brigade, said: “5 mins of dry weather and they’re off….Bantry and Schull crews currently dealing with gorse fire tonight.”
In a tweet, which was posted shortly after 9:30pm, the spokesperson for Bantry Fire Brigade said the fire was extinguished and crews were returning to the station.
