A fire started in Moneypoint at a power station, was fought against by local fire crews in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The power plant first took ablaze approximately two days ago, in County Clare.
The Clare County Fire Service were called to the scene on Tuesday after receiving a call about a small fire at the plant.
Firefighters remain on the scene today, to monitor the increased temperatures of the coal on site.
They have been working today in lieu with the local ESB crew in trying to transfer the coal from the bunker to prevent further fires.
It is expected that this process could take the emergency service e up to another two days to complete.
An investigation by the HSA and the EPA is underway into the incident.
