A new American film called Peter and the farm is set to be released next month. The film follows the trials and tribulations of Peter Dunning on his Vermont farm, Mile Hill.
The film follows the farmer over the course of a year where he runs a mixed farm producing beef, pork, chicken and lamb. An organic farmer Peter’s life is not a picture perfect image of self sustainability but rather a man battling with the elements and markets to survive.
The director Tony Stone was quoted in Modern Farmer as saying;
‘Its this beautiful, fragile existence,” says Stone. “You could see that the farm was not going to hold on for very long, you could see that it was at this tipping point.’
The film is available on iTunes and Amazon from November 4th.
