Farmers walk over 4,800km for CMRF Crumlin

Enfield Macra have not let current restrictions stop them from raising vital funds for a worthwhile charity.

They have decided to walk the equivalent distance of Enfield, Co. Meath to Enfield, Connecticut, USA – a total of 4,888km.

In doing so, they hope to raise much-needed funds for Crumlin Children’s Hospital (CMRF Crumlin).

They began walking on May 1st and finished last Sunday (June 7th) and, so far, have raised over €2,400 for their chosen charity.

A spokesperson for the Macra club said that their core belief is that every sick child deserves every chance. They want every patient to have the best possible outcome through access to world-class research, equipment and treatments when they become ill.

By raising money for CMRF Crumlin, they will be able to provide vital funding to the Children’s Health Ireland in Crumlin and the National Children’s Research Centre to enable young patients to have the best possible outcomes.

Their aim is to raise a total of €4,888 – €1 for every kilometre walked.
