Farmers in Dublin earn highest farm income in Ireland

The Farming Sector in Ireland: A Profile from Revenue Data report has been published.

The report, released in August, presents a statistical analysis of farmers from the perspective of Revenue data.

One section of the report focuses on farm income data (figures exclude off-farm and spousal income) for the years 2013-2018.

Of the 148,227 farms analysed in 2018, the average farm income was €20,886, with a gross income average of €47,029. Revenue stated that the difference between gross and farming incomes may relate to the off-farm income of the farm or a spouse/civil partner.

The report indicates that farmers in Co. Leitrim earn the lowest farm income in Ireland, while Dublin-based farmers have the highest farm income.
