The accused Mr. Paul Alexander Brady appeared in Dungannon Crown Court today facing charges of driving with no insurance, driving dangerously, driving while disqualified and dangerous driving causing death.
Also appearing in court was Mr. Murphy who was the driver of the truck which rear-ended the tractor the day of the tragic accident, which resulted in the deathe of Phelim Brady.
Phelim was standing on the tow bar of the tractor while his son Paul was driving, upon pulling out onto the motorway they were rear ended, killing Phelim Immediately.
Paul Brady admitted to the charges of driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance.
While Mr. Murphy was charged with dangerous driving causing death and slo he was found guilty of careless driving.
The jury deliberated over their decision for over 7 hours, and upon their return they unaminously found Mr. Murphy guilty of dangerous driving causing death.
With regards the deceased's son, Paul Brady, the jus#ry was undecided in respect of his charges and a retrial was deemed necessary.
Brady was remanded on continued bail until the retrial in late October/November.
The lorry driver, Mr. Murphy, will reppear before the courts on August 3rd for sentencing.
